Our Trusted Local Pros: The Heart & Home Referral List

Buying or selling a home takes a team, and the realtor is only one part of it. Over the years we've built a list of local pros we trust: the people we call when a client needs a mortgage, a lawyer, an inspection, or a plumber on short notice.

We're sharing that list here so you don't have to start from a Google search. Save this page; you'll want it again after you get the keys.

Getting the deal done

Talk to a mortgage broker before you start viewing homes. A pre-approval tells you your real budget and makes your offer stronger. Your lawyer handles the title search, the closing documents, and the transfer of funds on closing day.

Inspections

A home inspection is the best few hundred dollars you'll spend on a purchase. Outside the city, a home on a septic system needs its own septic inspection. For older homes, a sewer line camera inspection can catch a cracked or root-blocked pipe before it becomes your problem.

Protecting what you've bought

Your lender will want proof of home insurance before closing, so line it up early. A new home is also a good moment to review life insurance and update your will.

Repairs and renovations

Whether it's a fix your inspection flagged or the kitchen you've been planning, these are the trades we send clients to.

Moving in, moving out

A deep clean before move-in, a bin for the basement purge, or a septic pump-out before listing: the small jobs that make moving day easier.

Affiliates and partners

Need someone who isn't on the list?

Ask us. If we don't know the right person, we probably know someone who does. Reach out to either of us and we'll point you in the right direction.
